Joan and Nick are the mother-son duo behind The Salt Air Farmhouse, makers of our vintage drop-cloth tapestries.

Each design begins with Tom and Kate — who love to dream up the motifs, sayings, and stories — before Joan and Nick bring them to life by hand in their studio.

Working with salvaged painter's drop cloths and vintage wool and canvas fabrics, no two pieces are alike: each one drawn freehand, hand-cut, and sewn with care.

It's a process that delights in the irregular, the worn, and the wonderfully unrepeatable.
