Joan and Nick are the mother-son duo and creative forces behind The Salt Air Farmhouse, makers of our beloved vintage drop cloth tapestries.

As admirers of all things imperfect and natural, they work with salvaged painter's drop cloths, along with vintage wool and canvas fabrics sourced from around the world. No two tapestries are alike—each one is drawn freehand, hand-cut, and sewn in their cosy New York home studio, with a thoughtful touch added to every piece.
